After 17 years it happened. What a wonderful day. Thank you to Gerald Chester who had a vision so many years ago. Also, thank you to the County of Volusia, City of DeLand, Stetson University, the Spring Hills Boys and Girls Club, Commissioner Jessica Davis, Councilwoman Barbara Girtman, Bo Davenport and the late Mr. Jimmy Cusack who have been engaged for the last 17 years. Last but not least, to the Spring Hill neighborhood and Mrs. Shilretha Dixon and her staff thank you for all your hard work and staying the course for this day to happen.
