A concerned citizen contacted Lisa Lewis, Supervisor of Elections for Volusia County, about Glue Strip problems on Mail Ballots. As a result, Lisa Lewis put this on the VolusiaElections.org website. Taping the envelope shut won't invalidate the ballot.
Everyone doesn't have the internet and even those that do, don't go to VolusiaElections.org website to see this information. They believe that Mayor Derrick Henry should do a broadcast about this information so Daytona Beach voters will know the rules and be assured that if they tape their mail-in ballot, it won't be considered "tampered with" and will be counted.
The concerned citizen also believe that this information should be sent to the Volusia County news media outlets to broadcast.
