On Sunday September 3, 2022, a family and friends cookout was held for Mrs. Mary Ethel "Peggy" Shields at Sunrise Park in Holly Hill, Florida. Family members from across the country gathered to celebrate Mrs. Shield's birthday. There was plenty of games, food, and entertainment at the celebration event.
The birthday celebration continued with Sunday service at Faith Temple C.O.G.L.C. Church in Daytona Beach. The church service was followed by a Birthday Celebration dinner with family and friends at Elaine's Blessed Event Center on Mason Avenue in Daytona Beach. The Shields family and friends took turns speaking and honoring Mrs. Mary Ethel "Peggy" Shields. The spoke about her humble yet beautiful way that she touched their lives. The event hall was standing room only during the birthday celebration for Mother Shields.
