Thanks to a helping hand, many people will enjoy a holiday meal this Thanksgiving holiday.
Local churches and businesses stepped up with some Thanksgiving holiday giveaways on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Hope Fellowship Church, at 869 Derbyshire Road in Daytona Beach, hosted thier annual Thanksgiving basket giveaway. The church gave out boxes of Thanksgiving groceries to 100 families. All those that received the meals had pre-registered with the church.
New Life Church Ministries, at 1625 Derbyshire Road in Daytona Beach, gave out Thanksgiving food to families in need as well that day. The church provided turkey and bags of food containing most of the traditional Thanksgiving food. The Power House Ministries Church of God and Christ, on Jefferson in Daytona Beach also had it's annual Thanksgiving community dinner.
