Hurricane Ian devastated the west coast of Florida. Although the powerful storm was much weaker by the time it reached the east coast, it left many homes destroyed. Please see the message below from Volusia County.

Volusia County Government, in cooperation with the American Red Cross, will open a shelter at the Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, at 10 a.m. Saturday for people who were impacted by Hurricane Ian.

The shelter will accept all residents, including special needs patients. Special needs patients may be accompanied by one caregiver. The Florida Department of Health in Volusia County will provide care for special needs patients. Patients should bring their medications, medical supplies, and equipment.
