New FEMA program to provide assistance up $9,000 per funeral in some cases of COVID-19 related deaths.
FEMA has introduced a program to provide financial assistance for qualifying funeral expenses due to COVID-19 related deaths. If certain eligibility requirements are met, up $9,000 per funeral and $35,500 per application can be reimbursed.
On March 24th, FEMA released a press release outlining the program and it's intended goal to, "help ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the pandemic". The are also working on an 800 Number to help provide assistance for those who wish to call in.
