Bethune-Cookman finally got its passing game going in their 31-20 win over Morgan State in front of an announced crowd of 5,642 fans at Daytona Stadium on Oct. 5. Jimmie Robinson caught five passes for 136 yards with three touchdowns while Akevious Williams threw for 156 yards with three scores and ran for 117 more with a touchdown for B-CU.

"We made some halftime adjustments after a slow start. We needed someone to step up and I was able to spark the team," said Robinson. Williams echoed, "I just get him the ball and let him make a play. He is dangerous in space."

After a month on the road, B-CU played their first home game since their Sept. 8 home game against Southeastern Louisiana was canceled due to Hurricane Dorian.

"Any win is a good win. It was good to be at home and to show these fans what this football can do, said B-CU Head Coach, Terry Sims. Bethune-Cookman (4-1, 2-0) twice led by 18 points in the second half. Morgan State (0-5, 0-2) twice cut the lead back to 11. DeAndre Harris threw for 104 yards and ran for 37 yards with a score for the Bears. Josh Chase ran for 124 yards and Manasseh Bailey recovered a punt in the end zone for a touchdown for MSU.

Que'Shaun Byrd added 83 yards rushing and Isaac Washing 51 for the Wildcats. Tydarrius Peters recorded an interception, Derwin James blocked a field goal and Marquis Hendrix had 11 total tackles and a sack for B-CU.

Bethune-Cookman travels to North Carolina Central on Oct.10 while Morgan State plays Delaware State on Oct. 12 for their homecoming.
